Last post

I have been very busy as you can see i havent posted in a long time. With this being my last post and my last couple days of college i thought i would write about my first year in college. Over all college went well for me. Although i struggled in some of my classes i still met alot of fun and interesting people along the way. Although i didnt get the freshman year in college i thought i would i still enjoyed it. Being on the College activities board i think reallly helped make my year good. I have grown very close to everyone on the board and look forward to doing it again next year. Throughout the year i have learned that college is nothing like you see on tv. On tv all it is is parties and if you cant find a party the party will find you but with going to community college, for me, it was hard to find a parties maybe bc i didnt know anyone that liked to party or what but for the party aspect of college it just wasnt there. I plan to stay at swic for another year maybe a little more and then go to SIUE and get the experience i want there.

"And here we go into the Bottom of the 20th..."

The cardinals will most of the time keep there games interesting, not on purpose but it gives us a good show. Saturdays game againist the New York Mets was deffinantly one of those good shows. Most baseball games last up to 3 hours on average, this game last 6 hours and 55 mins. A regular game consists of 9 innings, this game lasted 20. Although the cards fought hard, they lost to a groundout by Ludwick in the bottom of the 20th inning. It was a scoreless game up until Jose Reyes scored for the Mets in the 19th inning. Albert came up the next inning, got on base and was soon brought in. The game was now tied going into the 20th inning. Mets scored once again and the cards were unable to bring in another run. the game was all but boring, but a sad loss for the cards.

MARCH MADNESS 2010!

One thing i look forward to in sports is the March Madness Tournament. It's a time for my friends and i to get together, make brackets, and then rag on each other when our teams win. It's a fun time, and i usually have one party at my house to watch the games and a friend of mine always has people over to play some basketball of our own. This tournament so far has been nuts, their has been tons of upsets and wins that no one else thought would happen. The tournament starts with 64 teams. March madness only happens in Division I. But anyways, it starts with 64 teams and works it way down to 1. when it gets down to the last 16 that round is called the Sweet Sixteen. When 8 tems are left thats called the Elite Eight. The popular round that everyone talks about comes when there are only 4, that is called the Final Four. The Final Four right now consists of Duke ranked at number 1, West Virgina ranked at number 3, and Butler and Michigan State ranked at number 5. In a pool you have a bracket with the 64 teams and you pick the teams you think are going to win and the team you eventually think is going to win the tournament. All brackets are turned in to who ever is in charge of your pool and all you can do now and cheer and pray that your teams win. Strategy wise if your not familiar with the teams you would just want to either get help or pick from the seed(rankings) numbers next to the teams, or you can just look up stats for each team and do it that way. For me, since im a big ohio state fan, i pick ohio state to win the whole thing and just choose who their going to los to. But it is all up to you.

Spring Break!

The one thing that everyone looks forward too in the spring semester is spring break. Spring break is only a week off school but you'll be amazed how much can happen in a week. Since i don't have class on fridays my spring break started a day early. My first couple days of spring break were slow for the most part, but as Sunday approached i got more excited. Sunday finally came and it was the day i headed to Chicago. My Aunt and Cousin came down to Belleville for a funeral and i caught a ride up to Chicago. We left for Chicago around 6:30pm and arrived just outside Chicago(my aunts house) where we dropped off my aunt and then we headed towards my cousins apartment. We arrived at the apartment around 12:30am. The next day we woke up and went to the grocery store where we bought our food for the week. We later went to go see the movie, "She's Out of my League". I thought it was a really funny movie. After that we went back to the apartment and crashed for the night. The next day my cousin took me to the top of the Sear's Tower. They have these 3in thick glass boxes that hang out the side of the 103rd floor, it was nuts. After our legs stopped shaking we did some shopping on Michigan Ave., which is the major street and where most of the stores are. We then went back to the apartment and crashed again, after some dinner my cousins friend came over and we went bowling. We bowled for a an hour and a half and then went to go crash again. The next day was a little bit slower, we didnt have anything to do till late at night so we decided to go rent some movies. We rented, "Couples Retreat" and "Invention of Lying".They were both really funny and good. 8:00 rolled around and it was time to go to a trivia night at a local bar. We didn't do to good because we were short a whole bunch of people but it was fun. After the trivia game i went to go visit a friend of mine at Northwestern University. I spent the night over there and had a good time. My cousin came to pick me up around 10 and we headed to the Chicago Science and Industry Museum. We stayed there for a couple hours and then left to go back to her apartment and chill. I was due to leave at 4:30 so we left about 3:45. I was to ride the Mega Bus home, the bus took about 6 hours after being 30mins late to start. I arrived home about 11:30-12, it was good to be home. After that i didn't do much with my break except watch a bunch of College Basketball, I was so happy when Kansas lost. But the only other big thing that happened on my break is Saturday night i got to go to the john Mayer concert at the Scott Trade Center. It was a good concert, it was actually my first one in a stadium. Now I'm back at boring old school.

Obsession....

Everyone has there phases where they really like something and they end up doing it so much that they get crowned the name 0besessed. I have called obsessed with video games by many people, friends and family...i dont know what it is but i just have a hard time goin a whole day without my xbox. Ive tried putting it away but just knowing that i still have it around drives me crazy and its gotten so bad that its greatly affected my life. the conclusion i have come too is to sell it. I plan to use the money to but some furniture for my room and maybe some movie posters or airsoft stuff. This may be alittle extreme but i feel its the only way.

Space Out....

When it comes to school, i was never a big fan. All the books, homework, tests, and classes...I know that in my classs if i feel unsure of the topics i should be studying and paying attention, but something i find myself doing alot is spacing out. Not only in school but other places to, at scouts, work, even at home...i just cant find a way around it, at some point i find a way to space out and totally disreguard whats being said. i take my self to a whole different world, somewhere i would rather be, usually just home playing xbox but when i have something big happening im right there.

SNOW DAY!

One thing that every student looks forward to in school is no school. One way we don't have to go to school is having a SNOW DAY! Snow days are looked at by students as a day where you can sleep in, hang with friends, have snowball fights, and just enjoy not having school. As you get older, you want more snow days, but as you grow up, it's harder for your school to call off, when your in college it takes pretty much a blizzard to call of school in college. I remeber when thee would be snow days in grade school and highschool i would go outside for most the day and build snowmen, sled in my backyard, and build forst and have snowball fights with neighbors. Now since i've grown up and am lazy, I would rather stay inside sleep in and play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or some Madden 2010. It's always interesting to think who actually makes the call to call off school. Sometimes they will call off school when theres absolutely nothing on the ground but then they don't call off school when we get like 4 inches.
