College...

So i'm in my second week of my second semester at SWIC, it's not going to bad. It's alot different than highschool but not to bad, it just takes some getting used too. I've met quite a few people, some interesting, some funny, and some just plain annoying, but everyone has there ups and their downs. Sometimes i feel like i've takin on to much for my first year in college but i thhink it;s working out. I am the first person in my family to go to college so i'm kinda the test rat, all the mistakes happen with me which sucks but it comes with the territory. Well i hope someone actually comments this, b/c ive only gotten one comment.

Introduction...

I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jordan Haar, I am a 6'6" freshman a SouthWestern Illinois College, i am in my second semester. I am currently working at SWIC on the College Activities Board as the Head of the Student Events Committee. I graduated from EMGE Junior High in 2005 and from Belleville Highschool West in 2009. I am majoring in Computer Science but am working on my Gen. Eds. right now. I plan to transfer to SIUE in the Fall of 2011.

Some random things about me, i recieved my Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank in Boy Scouts, about a year ago. I like to play sports, but i've actually only done one sport for school and that was Mens Volleyball, but what was cool about it was that it was the inaugural season. Somethings i like to do in my free time are play my Xbox 360, hang with friends and family, and play on my laptop. I am outgoing, funny, very outdoorsy, and in general am an all around fun guy.

So i hope this gave you all more of a personal look on me rather than just being abnormally tall.

Blackberry, iphone, Droid, OH MY!

A single commercial I keep seeing on all the time is about a new Verizon Wireless phone from Motorola call the Droid. This phone is the only phone out at the moment that is capable of competing with the iphone. With the introduction of the orginal iphone in 2007, the cell phone market has been working hard to compete but nothing seems to be as great as the capabilities of the iphone. With the introduction of touch screens, Blackberry felt it neccesary to keep up with the competition by introduction the Blackberry Storm in 2007. With the introduction of all these phones in the past 3 years the world has been hit hard with the era of touch. Almost every phone off the market is touch screen. Most phones are both qwerty(full keyboard) and touch screen. I find it interesting to look back to when cells phones came popular and affordable. i can remember the first cell phone i used was a bar phone and the screen was black and green and the coolest thing on the phone was i was able to play this game called snake. To see where cell phones have come from only makes me think where it will go. We are being introduced to bluetooth technology, which is wireless. I think pretty soon all we'll need is a little ear piece and we'll be able to talk to anyone we want in the world.
