Blackberry, iphone, Droid, OH MY!

A single commercial I keep seeing on all the time is about a new Verizon Wireless phone from Motorola call the Droid. This phone is the only phone out at the moment that is capable of competing with the iphone. With the introduction of the orginal iphone in 2007, the cell phone market has been working hard to compete but nothing seems to be as great as the capabilities of the iphone. With the introduction of touch screens, Blackberry felt it neccesary to keep up with the competition by introduction the Blackberry Storm in 2007. With the introduction of all these phones in the past 3 years the world has been hit hard with the era of touch. Almost every phone off the market is touch screen. Most phones are both qwerty(full keyboard) and touch screen. I find it interesting to look back to when cells phones came popular and affordable. i can remember the first cell phone i used was a bar phone and the screen was black and green and the coolest thing on the phone was i was able to play this game called snake. To see where cell phones have come from only makes me think where it will go. We are being introduced to bluetooth technology, which is wireless. I think pretty soon all we'll need is a little ear piece and we'll be able to talk to anyone we want in the world.

  1. I would mention the palm pre as a competitor for the Iphone. It's sprints answer, as well as being made by Palm, one of the first Smartphone providers.

  2. I find the new phones great but intimidating. They have so many apps and can do so much. Technology has movied so quickly. My first cell phone was very basic and the cost per minute was atronomical. Needless to say, it was for emergencies only. I like my Blackberry but I am not using it to its fullest potential.
